250 attend information events about closure

More than 250 patients attended three information events last week, which aimed to provide more information and clarity on the closure and what it means for your care.

The events were hosted by Dr Linda Collie, Clinical Director for Portsmouth at NHS Hampshire and Isle of Wight Integrated Care Board (HIOW ICB) and Jo York, Managing Director for Portsmouth at HIOW ICB.

Their presentation included information about why the practice is closing, how patients will be able to choose a new practice, the estimated timescales for the transfers and list of frequently asked questions before opening the floor for questions from the audience.

Linda and Jo were also joined by Daniel Ferrett, Practice Manager at The Drayton Surgery, Carly Hobbs, Operations Manager at Portsdown Group Practice, and Gina Cooper, Practice Manager at Derby Road Practice. They took part in a Q&A about how Portsmouth GP practices deliver healthcare and answered questions about the wider range of specialist staff within practices now, the process of booking appointments, and the important role a care navigator who will ask you questions over the phone to make sure you get the right appointment.
