All patient transfers from North Harbour now complete

More than 9,500 patients have been successfully transferred from North Harbour Medical Group to other GP practices, ahead of the practice closing later this month.

The majority of patients were allocated their first-choice practice, with more than 5,000 people responding to the NHS Hampshire and Isle of Wight Integrated Care Board (HIOW ICB)’s survey to express their preference.

As expected, most patients were moved to the two practices closest to North Harbour; Portsdown Group Practice and The Drayton Surgery, with smaller numbers transferring to Derby Road Group Practice and other practices in the Portsmouth area as well as nearby Portchester and Westlands practices.

It is expected that North Harbour Medical Group will now officially close on 31 March 2023.
